A Trusted Voice for Transparent
Leadership and Community Engagement

BERNICE FREEDMAN
Leading with Vision, Driven by Values, Grounded in Community
As a mom and active member of the Shamrock Elementary School PTO, Bernice Freedman brings both heart and strategy to her advocacy for Woburn students. She's a trusted voice for transparency, having successfully championed more community engagement around school redistricting and continues to advocate for more transparent communication. She has earned the trust and endorsement of not just the Woburn Teachers Association, but also four current Woburn City Councilors.
She is a detail-oriented planner with 25 years of experience in strategic communications, public relations, journalism, and public service. She knows how to ask tough questions, gather facts, and make thoughtful, data-driven decisions that put students first. She brings the mindset of a problem solver and the skills of a communicator to every challenge she faces.
Her leadership is guided by public safety, equity, and fiscal responsibility. That’s why Bernice supports building a new North Woburn elementary school with an attached Pre-K program, while also establishing a smart, realistic phased plan to address overdue maintenance and facility needs throughout the district.
Bernice is focused on fostering inclusive and supportive school environments where students and educators thrive. As a founding co-chair of a Multicultural Employee Resource Group, she knows how to build bridges and understands the value of an inclusive workforce culture. She supports creating diverse workforce pipelines to attract and retain the teachers, paraprofessionals, and staff who make Woburn schools exceptional.
